I have been able to successfully configure my Laptop to run Tomcat J2EE (with the mod_jk apache connector), Coldfusion 7, Webrick, Ruby on Rails, PHP 4 with a switch for PHP5, Apache 2 all at the same time!! It is great for development because now I test out new ideas on my laptop. I also have Apple Remote on the box so I can monitor several other boxes! I think this would be exceptionally difficult to run on a Windows box (unless you had IIS). I finally have the ultimate development environment to show potential clients! My girl friend hates it.. It wasn’t the easiest thing to setup in the world either but it is now done!! Lately I have been working a great deal. Recently we had an e-mail outage but JD and I took care of it! We had not one hard drive go bad on our array but two. We were able to restore the exchange e-mail system by temporally copying the stores onto several other boxes. Then we migrated them back ran all the defrags and integrity checks placed them back on the decent drives. Jason got the new drives and this morning we rebuilt the array @ 4:00 am and bam! No more e-mail exchange problems!! So I am a little Jazzed when something works in your head and in reality as well. I have also been busy creating the new WurglerPhoto.com web page! Jerry and I are also going to be doing some hosting and panoramic photographs for local real-estate companies.
